Dimitrios Village Beach Resort & Spa is a hotel divided over several buildings, with a familiar atmosphere, an exquisite greek & Cretan cuisine which is certified by the Greek Tourism Organization and it is surrounded by green. 

The hotel has been renovated recently and consists of fully equipped studios, apartments and suites. It is situated directly on the quiet beach of Missiria, so it lies 2,5 km away from the touristic village of “Platanes” and 2,5 km from the romantic little town of “Rethymno”. 

Rethymno is known for its long sandy beaches, its picturesque old town, the venetian harbor with its exquisite fish-taverns and the outstanding fortress “Fortezza”; for its ottoman mosques with the ancient inscriptions, its archaeological, hictorical & folklore museum, its university (school of philosophy, social sciences & education), the venetian fountain “Rimondi” in the center of the old town and of course for its countless traditional taverns with cretan cuisine (which offer mainly biological products – and of also biological local wine and beer) & cafes, its active nightlife with clubs & bars as well as its boutiques and souvenir shops. 

The most common places for excursions in the area of Rethymno are: Spili (a wonderful village in the mountains with its historical fountains), the Arkadi Monastry (the national monument of crete), Plakias (a town in the south of Crete with wonderful beaches), Preveli (a palmforrest that surrounds a small lake which empties into the sea), Argyroupoli (ancient springs in a mountain-village), Kournas (the only natural sweetwater-lake on the island) and Giorgioupolis (a small touristic village with wonderful beaches and rivers) and much more. 

As already mentioned the town has a very active nightlife, especially in summer there are lots of different clubs which can offer you the kind of entertainment you wish. Passing the area of “Platanes” – by car or taxi – there are several clubs which are situated directly on the beach and offer you different kinds of music and an amazing view on the beach at night. In the city of “Rethymno” – by car or taxi - you can visit beginning from typical greek clubs, over to classic rock cafes, irish pubs, jazz bars, discos and clubs.
